Petite Victory Collective Welcomes Yukio Bergholdt.
We're today delighted to officially welcome Yukio Bergholdt in the family. Copenhagen based Yukio Bergholdt has been producing electronic music since the mid 90's, cutting his teeth on hardware synths and outboard gear. He certainly has an ear for the nostalgic, and his evocative beats and mellow tones should appeal to fans of the dub, techno, and ambient genres.
Yukio Bergholdt grew up in the 80’s near Copenhagen spending a lot of time skateboarding and playing Commodore Amiga games, getting influenced by the fantastic tracker music and pioneering demo scene. Limited by 4 channels and 8-bit samples Yukio and his friends would try to create tracks of their own in tracker music software on the Amiga 500.
Inspired from this and the growing electronic music scene Yukio began experimenting in the 90’s with early softsynths, and then began producing goa and psytrance techno on hardware synths and grooveboxes sequencing everything from Cubase. [The Roland MC-505, JP8000, TR-808, Korg ER-1, Novation Supernova where among his most used gear.]
In the 00’s Yukio became busy studying but did a minimal techno album in 2009. This time everything was made with software plugins and Cubase on his laptop while living in a small flat in Tokyo, Japan.
Then came a musical hiatus lasting over 10 years but he always promised himself that he would never leave the creative spark and sometime start again. Thus in 2021 he started producing again. This time primarily on hardware synths, releasing jams on social media, and gradually finding out in which direction he would go musically. Always curious to find likeminded artist Yukio has done remixes and videoart scoring with different artists around the world.
Today his force lies balancing between creating dub techno, techno, ambient and the occasional sonic or audiovisual experiments.
We're delighted to announce that Yukio's upcoming Album 'Passenger Null' is due to be released on April 8th through yours truly. - Save the date!
