Formal Process is an artist from Columbia, Maryland in the United States who plays ambient, post-ambient, minimal house and relaxed electronic music while producing accompanying abstract visuals.

The name Formal Process comes from the field of computer science where a type of analysis called “formal methods” utilizes rigorous mathematical models to verify correctness.

While precise and meticulous crafting of sounds can be interesting, Formal Process does enjoy crafting unpredictable, layered sounds by incorporating randomness and improvisation into his works.
