Evin Schneider - ‘DO U?’ Out Now!
Evin Schneider’s new EP ‘DO U?’ is now out through Petite Victory Collective.
Here’s some words from our man concerning this new release: “So far, life is fragile but good. This is what I believe after the pandemics and the multiple crises we have experienced. My goal is to be living good moments and being fully aware of how fulfilling they are, without forgetting what happens in the world meanwhile.
My three pieces DO U, EXIST and DIVE have been composed reflecting on these principles. How can music fulfill my senses and hopefully the ones of my listeners, without losing ground with reality ? I am looking for enjoyment with open eyes.
I have focused on a rich rhythmic section with several layers of percussion, which symbolizes the pleasure section. It has been a very joyful and happy process to assemble and intertwin these layers. On top of this section, my objective was to melt basses within the groove in order to reach a fluid texture of rhythms and basses covering the full spectrum of audio frequencies. Over this flow of sounds, synths and pads, arps and pianos form the emotional part. This is the part that says enjoy but be aware. I have tried to make it as deep as I could, with pads and synths telling one story, arps and pianos whispering something else. I have tried to bring complexity in the creative process to express different sides of a bigger narrative. In the end, I have chosen a set of vocals as a means to create a bridge between the listener’s attention and my music.”
