"Spellbound" | Digitone 2, Digitakt 2
There we go.. Finally finished a proper track I've been working on for a bit. Spent quite awhile on it because I was having lots of fun designing all the sounds for the tracks and experimenting with a lot of things.
I found a lot of fun sweet spots on the Digitone, and dove head first into the Digitakt a lot more than I usually do. Instead of my usual, one or two samples for texture with a few things done to them, I did a lot of resampling sequences from both the Digitone and Digitakt and further editing them with the various modes.. For instance the bass line on the Digitakt is a very mangled version of an older sequence from the first iteration of the lead synth on the Digitone, mixed up in grid mode, pitched, filtered, etc.. And then track 11 is a resample of that, changed in a completely different way.
Anyway! Decided to go with perform mode for this one to keep it fairly structured and allow me to have two hands on parameters. Also the fantastic updates came out for these machines today (video incoming soon..) and while I didn't make much use of them since the songs were already done, the new ability to select tracks silently without holding the track button really helped in performance. Good stuff :)
