HANJŌ‘s debut EP ‘In Shibuya’ is now out through Petite Victory Collective in collaboration with Far Future, JP.
'In Shibuya' is conceived as a collection of tracks. Captured sparks of creative energy that meander in unexpected directions. Among the eclectic structures and styles, you will find a common thread, David's sonic know-how. The songs all share the improvised and expressive musical approach as a fundamental principle.
The recording process, in alignment with the artist’s music making ethos, was experimental in nature and explored different approaches. Some of the tracks included are hardware performances captured in 1 take and others the complete opposite, meticulously crafted in the box compositions.
The reason behind all the unconventional production choices?
A passion for music, exploring sound and a commitment to share and pursue it no matter where and how.
In addition, the artwork is designed by the internationally acclaimed illustrator Sergio Membrillas. He has collaborated with brands and artists worldwide, including Future Islands, Apple, Vans, Addidas, The New Yorker,... just to name a few.
